Graduation Part 1

Joshua and Matt Cobb (Recipient of The Reggie Bush Scholarship)...

Good morning readers! Wow we had the most exciting weekend ever! We held a street block party for all the five kids (Matt, Rainman, Joe, Justin and Manny) that graduated, along with all of their friends, families and neighbors.

Party On...

The menu consisted of ten pounds of New York steak, 20lbs of hamburgers, six pizzas, hot dogs, tons of potato, macaroni and fruit salad. We went through four cases of soda and bottled water along with two gallons of Kool Aid for the kids. The adults went through six cases of beer, wine and four bottles of rum.

Ack! Silly String fight!!!!

For entertainment we had a DJ that played oldies and Rock N Roll for dancing and a mini mosh pit. We purchased two cases of mini graduation bottles of bubbles and three cases of Silly String. Needless to say my yard was covered in blue, green, gold and red. Clean up was a breeze =)

Joe Wight and Michelle Williams..

No party would be complete with out a visit from the local police department. They were sent because of a nose complaint from three blocks away! Both officers were understanding and did not break up the party. They told us that next time we have a party like this we need to invite all the neighbors in a three block radius from our party.

Joe wanting to get the party started!

On Saturday morning there was a horrible accident on a freeway off ramp very close to where we live. No worries no one person was actually hurt although one car was totaled. As we were standing on the side of the road, a woman in a white car stopped in the middle of the street and asked me if I knew the young man with the long blonde hair standing on the corner. I told her I knew who he was and asked her why she wanted to know. Without answering me she then got back into her car pulled over to the side of the road and parked her car. As she got out of the car, she asked me if I knew his name, and I fibbed and told her he was my son, Joe. She hands me a card with the name of a reputable modeling agency in Los Angeles. She then proceeds to tell me that I must get head shots of him and bring him to her agency. She says he has “the look” that all the major companies are looking for to model their clothes and that he has the potential of making $100,000 just in his first year! Wow...That is the kind of thing in which stars are made!

To be continued...Part 2 Rainman is escorted home by the Sheriffs Department

How was your weekend?
